Hello,
I ordered some sim cards in order to test them on some GPS devices. I have activated and provisioned one of the sims and all looks good EXCEPT the data sessions as I cant connect without adding the APN information to the tracker. I don't have a way of adding the information to the trackers. Is there a way to add the APN on your end to the sims that I purchased? If not, can you recommend an alternative solution?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the question. The APN needs to be programmed in your device, not the SIM. Device manufacturers typically provide one of the following methods to do that:
- a serial port on the device that allows you to connect and send AT commands, one of which would program the APN
- the ability to accept the APN via SMS. In that case, you can select your provisioned device in the Neo portal, go to Device operations, and use the "Send SMS" operation to send the APN to the device.

Neo SIMs support the functions you listed EXCEPT caller ID. The Neo connectivity service isn't built for traditional consumer voice traffic.

1) Just so there is no confusion please be very specific about what exactly you are trying to do.
2) Please be aware there are two ways to transmit SMS with a Neo SIM:
1. Using the AerFrame API - refer to this tutorial
2. Using the Send SMS button on the diagnostics page (see screen shot below)

I see the same thing except under registration and data session are red. I am trying to ping the device and I am getting a 12:07:36 PM$ ping 89185000150911123897

The last network registration for your device was 1/19/2016. I also see that it has never established a data session. You can ping a device only if it’s in an active data session and in order to establish a data session the device must be registered on the network.
For this use case (pinging a device) you’ll need to take 3 steps:
- Register the device on the network
- Initiate a packet data session – Learn more
- Ping device from the portal

Well,
I have tried several sim cards and everything that you have suggested. I am still not able to get a data session on one of my devices. Thanks for your help Bob. I have 300 units that I need to bring online by weeks end. I will have to begin my search again. Extremely disappointed as I thought this would be the company to go with.
Thanks again for your help.

We have checked all your devices and noticed the following:
1) None of the devices have registered for packet service; are these devices GPRS capable?
2) What type of devices are these (manufacturer or any link details)?
3) if you want to see responses to SMS from your device you'll need to use the AerFrame API.
