Data flowing, but no registration?

Just provisioned my first Aeris SIM - that process was completely painless - good job Aeris!

Set up the APN (neo.iot.net) in the device, and re-powered it. The device had no issue coming online and the data started flowing.

It's been online for about 40 minutes now. When I look at the diagnostics page I see a few packets in the log, and that the data session started about 40 minutes ago, but the "Registration" shows a red blob with "Device never registered".
How is that even possible? Data is coming through fine...?

Of less concern; +CREG reports "roaming" status (5). I suppose that's normal (in CA, US)?
