I'm testing the neo SIM in a GPS pet tracker, but I can't establish a data session. I've followed the recommendations but no luck.

sorry for the late reply, but would really like to get this working as the trackers are for my business and I would love to use Aeris. I have attached a screenshot, when I ping it from the admin it says "Device not in data session". I know very little about SIM technology, I have tested this tracker with a T-Mobile SIM and it works right off the bat. The tracker does allow some SMS commands to configure and see settings, which worked find with the T-Mobile SIM, but I tried sending some SMS messages via Admin, but I don't see that you get a response back. I have also attached some SMS specs from the tracker, in case they may be of help. Right now I just need it to report the data, I have a custom developed tracking app that was created for this device and it's not getting the data reported either, the SIM is the last step for me.

Also the only comments I got from the device manufacturer is this

SIM card needs compatible with 2g network and open the flow.

(SIM card must open the call display function)

Insert 2G SIM card into device the phone number in device need open GPRS and call display function

2.Set APN if needed

Can you confirm what APN is configured on the device. Which modem are you using?

I have tried setting the APN using the SMS within the admin, but since you don't get an SMS response back I don't know if it took. I am not sure of what modem the tracker has within it.

Just to clarify, I have set an APN when I had the T-Mobile SIM in there because I could SMS directly via my phone and get a response back confirming it. But since with Aeris you can't do SMS from a phone, I don't get an SMS response back from the Aeris admin.

I would like to offer this to the community because I am quite frustrated trying to get the SIMs working. If would like to see if anyone in the community would like to help me out to get the SIM working on my tracker so I can move forward with my business.

I will be paying $150/hr with a minimum of 5hrs paid. I will send you the tracker with an active sim and you can work to get it working, I know it's probably something simple, but SIMs are just not something I am knowledgeable about.

Is the device powered on (no transactions for past few days) and I did not see any GPRS registration from the device to network. Also  did you try sending SMS to device from Aerport Dashboard, as I see SMS MO transaction from device?

The device is powered on now. I did have it off for the last few days. Do you see any activity now. I do not know how to register GPRS, how is that done? I did try sending SMS from the dashboard, but is there a way to see the response back?

Have you been able to get your tracking device working?  I'm in a similar position, though I have gotten mine to register.  To date, this entire process has been a maddening waste of time.  How they expect actual businesses to build anything around this type of support model is shocking in its stupidity.  Questions go unacknowledged for days and weeks!

OK, rant over.  Please let me know if you have gotten ANY resolution to your issue.  It would be much appreciated.

None, nobody has been of real help. I agree it has been extremely maddening and a huge time waster. I am currently working with another SIM company who has agreed to actually work with my device and their SIMs to get it working. I've sent them my device now so hopefully they will be able to get things working. I have asked Aeris to do this and I would even pay them, but said they don't do that. This other company is helping me out at no charge.
