With Long Term Evolution (LTE) you get future-proofed network longevity, increasing your product lifecycle.

Other benefits of using LTE for IoT/M2M deployments include:

  • Flexible channel widths allowing a carrier to deploy LTE/4G without having to entirely remove older technologies
  • Superior coverage including 3G fallback for your critical application needs
  • Great for projects with high data needs

Is there a list of approved (and hopefully tested) modems and devices that are compatible with the LTE cards?  My searches have only yielded CDMA modems that are compatible with the Aeris service.

Would an AT&T modem be compatible since the Neo service is essentially the AT&T network?

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the question. You'll find the list of devices and modules approved for LTE service here.

One more question, will micro-SIMs be available for LTE?  If not, is there a recommended method or tool for cutting the SIMs to size?

Hi Eric,

Micro SIMs for Neo LTE are under review but we don't have a target date for their availability. We also don't have a recommendation for SIM cutters but you can find many options with reviews online.

Bob

Hi Bob,

I was just informed by Aeris' technical support via email that a modem I chose from the list of approved devices you linked to from AT&T is not compatible with Aeris' LTE service.  I saw that the Multi-Tech MTSMC-LAT1-U was an approved modem from the AT&T list.  Now I hear that it is incompatible.

Who is correct?  Aeris tech support or AT&T?

Thanks,

Eric
