Notification channel remove delivery info

We are sending many messages daily through your AerFrame API.  Every time we send a message, we use the notification channel to check on the delivery status.  However, we sometimes see issues with delivery.  We are trying to diagnose the issue, but our notification channel has WAY too many items in the deliveryInfo array.  It makes it very difficult to debug.  I read that notifications will stay in the notification channel for 7 days.  Is this accurate?  Is there any way to acknowledge a deliveryInfo item so that it no longer comes back when making a call to the notification channel?  If I just sent an SMS, I dont need to know the status of the 100s of messages from 7 days ago, just the one I sent
