What is the certification process for getting a device online and in production with Neo? I know for specific carriers a device must go through a certification process before it can go live.

Hi George,

Thanks for your question. Here's a summary about device certification:

Who needs to certify?

If you plan to put more than 2000 operational devices on the Aeris network then you should certify your devices with Aeris. If you plan to put less than 2000 devices on the Aeris network you can self certify that your devices follow the best practices outlined in Device Operations Best Practice Compliance Requirements. Regardless of the number of devices you plan to put on the Aeris network the Device Operations Best Practice Compliance Requirements should be followed.

If you choose to self certify and at a later date you believe you will exceed 2000 devices Aeris may require that you certify your device with Aeris.

Refer to Device and Application Requirements on the Aeris Network and Device and Application Certification for additional details.

Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Thank you for that information, it is very helpful, and yes we will follow the best practices regardless.  I just was wondering what the requirements set forth by Aeris were.

Thank You,
George

Hi George,

Here's a recap of the certification guidelines:

  1. For fewer than 2000 devices Aeris allows you to self-certify that the best practices outlined in Device and Application Requirements on the Aeris Network are followed.
  2. For more than 2000 devices Aeris adheres to the requirements outlined in Device and Application Certification.
Hopefully this answers your question. If not, please let us know. If you have an example use case to illustrate your concern that would be helpful.

Regards,
Bob
